As a child I spent many a weekend sitting in one of our families' garages watching my grandpa, dad, brother, cousins and various uncles work on numerous vehicles. The air was perpetually filled with the wonderful smell of gasoline and oil. I’ll never forget the sounds of wrenches turning, engines being revved up and curse words. Lots of curse words! It was a love/hate relationship fueled by the passionate pursuit of automobile performance. Our garage was filled with tools, helmets, go-carts, motorcycles and cars that were works in progress. When I heard names like Foyt, Andretti, Petty or Yarborough, I knew someone was talking about racing. My family thrived on the “need for speed” and performance, whether it was on a motorcycle, at the go-cart track, underneath the hood of a ’56 Thunderbird or just sitting in the stands at the Indy 500. That same passion runs through my veins and I hope my enthusiasm for racing shows in this website and I hope you come back often! ![]() ![]() My brother and I taking my dad's Mustang Pace Car to the 1982 Indy 500. I was 15 and he was 18. No parental supervision = A WILD TIME! Watching our parents pylon race and win 1st place trophies in the men and womens division. Dad drove his MG and Mom drove her Cougar. Going to the go-cart track with my dad and brother. My Dad Jake and his brothers were known as the "Myers Racing Team" and had the jackets to prove it. There was a problem. The track was located behind the Porky Barn which was a local bar. My mom would find out I was there with the team and come drag me home. She didn't think the track was a place for little girls to be. I saw my first fist fight and heard some pretty colorful language. I'm no worse for the wear! HA!Going to the county fair and watching my uncles destroy cars in the demolition derby. They always brought home championship trophies! Tracks I have been to: Atlanta Motor Speedway Bristol Motor Speedway California Speedway-Fontana Daytona International Speedway Homestead-Miami Speedway Indianapolis Motor Speedway Talladega Superspeedway Five Flags Speedway-Pensacola FL Cajon Speedway-El Cajon CA Closed and already torn down, sad story. ![]() ![]() ![]() I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. ![]() ![]() | Contact Us | What is Going On? | | Return Home | Drivers & Owners | Tracks & Schedules | B.A.'s Race Observations | The Garage | About Us | E-mail Us | |
